Please see the notes below by director Jerry Buteyn and producer Tino Struckmann

When Tino Struckmann approached me and asked me to work with him on “Brothers War”, I jumped at the chance.  Having worked with Tino prior on “The Doers of Coming Deeds”, I looked forward to the opportunity of making another film together.  Of course this would be on a much larger scale than our last.
Being my first feature film, I realized that this experience would be one I would remember for the rest of my life… and believe me I will.  I could not have asked for a better group of people to work with.  With the never-ending enthusiasm of a wonderful cast and the inexhaustible support of my magnificent crew, we endured, torrential rains, freezing temperatures, and mountains of mud to create something that I know we will all be proud of.

It was on our last night of shooting, around hour 14 or so, that I found myself smiling... I was tired as hell, but there I was smiling.  I credit that to those amazing people surrounding me.  Watching everyone give their all to make this film happen just reinforced my fond feelings for each and every one of them as well as my undying respect.

I always believed that period-films should be entertaining and if possible informative and give raise to debate and spark the viewer’s interest into study the time period and the history behind it.

When I started writing Brothers War I had both in mind; there is a great deal of interest in Freemasonry today, but much of the information and gossip seen on TV today has many faults and misunderstandings. I also believe that there still is much history about the fighting during WW2 still untold, especially the savage fighting on the Eastern front between the German and Russian armies.

It was with this in mind I started writing the film and I think it contains all the elements that I set out to achieve, It shows the savage fighting on the eastern front and the conditions under witch it was fought. It also tells the real story about how Freemasons actually interact and what really is important to the order. It is a fast moving action thriller with strong actors. It has developed to an incredible story with wonderful characters.

Most important for any producer is that he surrounds him with dedicated people who believe in the project. And this I have surly done, I would newer have been able to complete such an epic film had it not been for the people around me, I was constant surprised to see how dedicated these men and women were. I am proud to have them all on my production team and hope we will do many more projects together.
